Born and raised in Coney Island, New York, Marlene wanted to work with animals from a very young age. She started her journey in 2001 at a small private practice, and has since earned her A.S. in Biology form Kingsborough Community College and her B.S. in Veterinary Technology from Mercy College. Upon graduating from Mercy College in 2014, she was granted her license. Due to both her education and long history in the field, Marlene has a wide range of experience that runs the gamut from the small private practice to large emergency hospitals to large animal and even marine mammal medicine. At the core of all this time and effort spent is a firm belief that all animals deserve love, respect, compassion, and quality medical care, and the passion to provide it.
In her free time, Marlene loves hanging out with her Shih Tzu, Frank and her guinea pig clan, but can be found reading mystery and sci fi novels, learning about the newest technology, or just spending quality time with her (human) loved ones.
