Dr. Jeffrey Seaman received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY in 1999. The following year, he completed a small animal rotating internship in medicine, surgery, and emergency in New Jersey. He was subsequently employed as an assistant research scientist, participating in orthopedicresearch, and started his residency at the University of Minnesota.
In 2008 he completed a residency in small animal surgery and completed course work for his Master’s degree at the University of Minnesota Campus in St. Paul.
Dr. Seaman first became eligible for the certifying examination in 2010 and was board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons on his first attempt. Dr. Seaman has worked as a surgeon in Manhattan, Queens, Yonkers, and Long Island. Dr. Seaman’s passion for performing surgery led him to the decision to specialize in small animal surgery.
His areas of special interest include elective orthopedic surgery, fracture repair, oncologic surgery, neurosurgery, minimally invasive procedures, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Seaman has published original research on bone grafts, and authored publications on fracture repair and brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome. He has lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of topics.
In his free time, Dr. Seaman enjoys spending time with his family, boatbuilding, sailing, fishing, and traveling.
